Academic support services

Canvas is where your instructors and other campus departments may put materials such as assignments and grades for you to access.

Center for Learning has extensive online Study Skills Resources, including info about time management, note-taking, and much more.

Disability Support Services arranges academic accommodations for students with documented physical, medical, psychological, and/or learning disabilities.

SPU Library has on- and off-campus access to materials, support, subject-specific librarians, and a third-floor Faculty/Graduate Study Room with lockers for rent.

Office of the Registrar helps with registration, ordering transcripts, and veterans’ education benefits.

Research, Reading, and Writing Studio, located in the Library, assists at any stage of a research or writing process with strategies to help complete your projects.

Student services

Falcon Card, your campus ID, can be used for library privileges, building access, Falcon Funds, and meal plans. If you have on-campus classes, get one in University Services.

International Student Services assists with visa concerns, curricular practical training, optional practical training authorization, cultural adjustment, and general support.

Mailing and Copying Services, open 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, is where you can purchase stamps and mail letters and packages via USPS, UPS, FedEx, and/or DHL.

Office of Safety and Security provides commuter information and parking permits. OSS also offers a walking or vehicle escort 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

Student Financial Services answers questions about payments, scholarships, loans, and billing — including employer reimbursement and third-party billing. 

Student Union Building houses the campus information desk, Unicom, as well as Academic Perks, food options, and seating.

Veterans and Dependents Resources includes information about campus contacts and benefits for veterans.

Career resources

Career Accelerator courses are online continuing education courses that can elevate your career and skills on your schedule, costing only $250 per course.

Center for Career and Calling has online career resources to help you create a résumé and LinkedIn profile, learn effective interviewing techniques, and more. 

Handshake, SPU’s job board, lists jobs in greater-Seattle and nationwide. Handshake also can increase your exposure to national and global opportunities.

Mentor Program connects you with professionals in your chosen industry who can give you informed insight on what a specific industry entails.

Student Employment Office answers students’ questions about on- and off-campus employment, as well as work-study eligibility.

Switchboard connects you with the SPU network of students and alumni to build your professional network and get advice from alumni professionals.

Wellness resources

Health Services is staffed with nurse practitioners who can offer primary care, diagnose, write prescriptions, and  refer you to a specialty clinic, if needed.

Intramurals include everything from Ultimate Frisbee to basketball to Zumba for SPU students and alums, regardless of skill level or experience.

Student Counseling Center serves undergraduate students, but makes available extensive online and Seattle-area resources and referrals.

Student Financial Wellness provides information about emergency help, budgeting resources, food and housing resources, and more to help prevent the financial stresses that can lead to anxiety and depression.
